Kitui South Member of Parliament, Hon. Racheal Nyamai, on Thursday extended her People’s Development Tour to the community of Mwengea in Mutomo-Kibwea Ward, where she met residents to discuss key development priorities. The tour, which has been ongoing across the constituency, aims to strengthen engagement between the MP and the people she represents.
During the meeting, Hon. Nyamai held extensive consultations with locals, listening keenly to their concerns and proposals on improving public services. Residents highlighted issues touching on infrastructure, education, and economic empowerment, which the MP assured would be integrated into her broader development agenda.
She emphasized the importance of continuous dialogue with the community, noting that meaningful development can only be achieved when leaders understand the needs of the people directly from them. The MP encouraged residents to remain united and proactive in championing projects that uplift the entire constituency.
Later in the evening, Hon. Nyamai joined the grieving family of the late Mwololo in Ilaani Village, Ikutha Ward, following a tragic accident that claimed his life. She offered her heartfelt condolences to the family and stood with them during the difficult moment of mourning.
During the visit, the MP also delivered a generous contribution of KSh 500,000 from H.E. President Dr. William Ruto to support the family in managing funeral arrangements and other immediate needs. Hon. Nyamai added her personal support and called upon the community to continue upholding one another during moments of loss.
She concluded her remarks by sharing a message of comfort from Romans 12:15 — “Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.” She encouraged the people of Kitui South to remain compassionate and united as they pursue development while supporting one another through life’s challenges.
