Kitui County Chief Officer for Finance and Revenue Collection, CPA John Makau, has praised Governor Dr. Julius Malombe for his prudent financial management and dedication to cutting unnecessary government expenditure. Speaking during an interview on Musyi FMโ€™s Morning Talk Show on Thursday, Makau revealed that since his re-election, Governor Malombe has not traveled outside the country โ€” a deliberate move aimed at avoiding wastage of public funds and channeling more resources toward development.

Makau, a highly respected accountant, said the county government is implementing strategic plans to boost its own-source revenue and enhance service delivery under the Governorโ€™s visionary leadership. He emphasized that Governor Malombeโ€™s administration remains committed to transforming every part of Kitui through efficient financial management and development-focused governance.

Despite the delays in the disbursement of equitable share from the National Treasury, Makau noted that Kitui County has continued to pay its workers on time, unlike several other counties facing salary delays. He attributed this financial stability to Governor Malombeโ€™s discipline, foresight, and strong leadership.

Makau, who comes from a humble background, shared his passion for excellence and hard work, revealing that he is currently pursuing a PhD at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) to further strengthen his professional capacity.

He assured Kitui residents that the county treasury remains focused on improving revenue collection, ensuring accountability, and supporting Governor Malombeโ€™s transformative agenda for a more prosperous Kitui.
