Kitui MCA Mark Ndingo Slams Organizers for Snubbing Kalonzo Musyoka at Raila’s State Funeral

Kitui MCA Hon. Mark Ndingo has criticized the decision to sideline former Vice President Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka during the state funeral of the late Rt. Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga at Nyayo Stadium, terming it “foolhardy, reckless, and irresponsible.”

Speaking shortly after the ceremony, Ndingo expressed disappointment that Kalonzo, who had stood with Raila Odinga for more than a decade, was denied an opportunity to address the nation during the funeral. “It was wrong to ignore the former Vice President. Kalonzo Musyoka has been a loyal ally and a true friend to Raila. He deserved at least a minute to speak and pay tribute,” he stated.

The MCA noted that the move not only disrespected Kalonzo but also disregarded the values of loyalty and partnership that both leaders shared throughout their political journey. He added that Kenyans who have followed their unity and collaboration were deeply hurt by the gesture.

Ndingo emphasized that Raila Odinga’s farewell should have been an occasion to celebrate togetherness and national cohesion, not division. He urged leaders to honor the principles of respect and inclusion that Raila championed throughout his life.

He further reaffirmed his support for Kalonzo Musyoka, describing him as the natural heir to Raila’s political vision — a vision rooted in justice, democracy, and equality for all Kenyans. “If there’s anyone who understands Raila’s struggle, it is Kalonzo. He should be respected and supported as he continues that journey,” Ndingo concluded.
