Luhya MPs from the western region of Kenya on Saturday 27th June boycotted an alleged development meeting in Kakamega town MMUST hall which was sanctioned by the the above mentioned.

The meeting which mobilized elderly people who are at risk due to Corona pandemic was meant to lie to these old people about alleged developmental projects the duo are bringing to western without pointing out where the funds will come from considering the projects were not budgeted for in the recently read budgets from both county and National governments.

Eugene and Oparanya had invited all western MPs with a promise of an allowance of KSh 20,000/- to each that attended. All leaders boycotted apart from a handful namely, Sen Malala, Hon Elsie, Hon Kizito, Hon Wanjala, Otichilo and Wangamati.
Those who boycotted said they cannot be cows to ODM stooges being used to derail chances of a luhya becoming President in 2022.

It is sad that some luhyas think development can come from unbudget for projects talks. Eugene and Oparanya both hold key positions in government and can do development with having to risk lives of old people during this pandemic.

Eugene knows he has failed as devolution CS and is trying to win some sympathy from locals because Jubilee might sack him soon. Oparanya on the other hand has mismanaged County funds and hidden under donor projects and needs serious investigations from EACC. The people need to start asking questions.
