The National Government has commissioned the Kenya Red Cross Society to do impact assessment for desert locusts which invaded Kitui County earlier this year.

This was revealed by Kenya Red Cross officers Ms Evelyn Munyao and Ms Tabitha Matolo, who paid a courtesy call to Deputy Governor Dr Wathe Nzau in his Office today.

The officers lauded Governor Charity Ngilu and her deputy for proper and timely coordination, which led to 100% decimation of desert locust and nymphs band in Kitui County.
