BOMET: Former county secretary has accused and challenged Bomet Governor for swearing in new County Secretary.
Evelyne Cherotich Rono through her Lawyers Duncan Kiprono and Denis Sang has moved to court to file a case against Bomet Governor Hillary Barchok for disobeying court orders in authorising the swearing-in Stella Chepkoech Langat as the new county secretary yesterday.
The applicant reveal that she recieved a letter from Barchok and didn’t disclose valid reasons to be bared out from the office .
“I recieved a letter on April 1 2020 from Barchok stating my end period of working as the county secretary has been terminated and efforts to reach to governor more clarification never bear any fruits”, Mrs Rono lamented.
Rono also applied for stay orders to stop the recruitment of the new county secretary until the matter has been heard bad determined by court.
Rono was serving her second term in office since she was appointed on 23 October 2017by late former Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso.
This emerges after the Employment and Labour Relations court in Nairobi has stopped the removal of Rono from office.
The hearing of the appeal led by Lady Justice Maureen Onyango issued orders opposing Barchok in terminating the service of Rono in county government of Bomet.
The court granted the applicant leave to apply for judicial review of the matter and to serve respondent within 21days.
