The government should identify clearly costed areas of intervention in the fight against spread of the Corona. Then put in place systems of accountability and ask well-wishers to contribute. Government effectiveness needs money. But we all need the assurance that money will not be eaten or misappropriated.
The counties should also identify key areas of intervention, relevant to their people. Trust me, your 10k may not help you a lot when you are sick. But if you contribute 2k to a fund, and I contribute 1k, and another person brings in 3k, the government will acquire equipment and facilities for everyone’s use.
Let’s help our government, both at the national and county level.
But does the government know what is required and for what? Is the government willing to listen?
At least Devki Steels have donated oxygen (hope it won’t be stolen). In other countries, private citizens and entities have donated money and equipment to support government effort in this fight.
It’s for the good of all of us. When facilities are strained, money in your bank account won’t help you. Health insurance won’t help. Pooling resources will.
