Oh! So a woman can vie and win unopposed considering the cut-throat nature that characterises University students politics in Kenya?
Romours flooding the campus grapevine has it that the iconic Tabby Wa Comrades is one such woman who posses the mettle, capacity and organisational capabilities to be at the helm of the powerful Kenya Universities of Students Organization.
When we met Tabby Rachel, the Hon.Charles Nyamai’s foster daughter, she oozed more than confidence.
“She is outgoing and great especially in networking, something believed to give hope to many students in making sure they are safe and achieve their aspirations” says Trump Wa Ukambani who is running for the Lower Eastern Governorship.
Perched at the top, her other close mentors include Kennedy musyoka (EALA MP), Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Mike Mbuvi alias Sonko the Nairobi County Governor.
“My main agenda is to make sure students needs are aired on correct platforms and responded to accordingly” said Tabby speaking to COUNTY DIARY today.
Born in Kitui Rural Constituency, Tabitha Rachel Manifesto that clearly stipulates her mandate for comrades include job cohorts including tangible solutions to students’ suspension and explusion, a take on students insecurity in Kenyan Versities, an agenda on job creation, streamlining of HELB loans allocations, freshers’ celebration and a robust Community Service agenda for students.
And as the KUSO elections gather steam across the republic, Tabby Rachel who runs her own nascent TNTV & Radio Channel her seems to ride roughshod as her nondescript peers clutch at the straws.
