Hon Philip Nguli has taken over the leadership of the Kitui County Assembly committee on Health replacing Kitui Township MCA Hon Ndoo who served half of the term at the Assembly, the COUNTY DIARY Reports.
In pursuit for better service delivery on health sector which among the Governor’s five pillars, the no- nonsense Member of County Assembly Hon Nguli has been nominated and approved by the house as the new head of the Health docket committee.
Speaking to the COUNTY DIARY news desk, Nguli said;
“We have to do proper oversight in this ministry which consumes nearly half of the counties budget”.
The current challenges in hospitals such as insufficient of drugs, electricity Bill’s unpaid, casuals not paid for the last 6months must be addressed firmly. Kalumaita is equal to the task” he said
This comes at a time when the hospitals, health centres and dispensaries face myriad of challenges.
Kalumaita finds an overflowing in-tray full in terms the things that must be done.
Further more the first supplementary 2019/2020 has come into the house with 90% of the entire budget going to health. All the ministries are cutting their budgets to fund the health ministry, he said
We are committed as the house committees and the entire house to help the Governor Charity Ngilu deliver, he added.
