There comes a certain phase in our lives, usually from around late 30s to early 40s when we feel a deep yearning to know who we are on our own. We want to fully own ourselves-our bodies, our thoughts, beliefs, convictions, actions etc, without hinderance from any authority out there. We start rebelling to the authorities but inwardly.

It is akin to a similar phase in early adulthood or late teenage when we become rebellious to authority outwardly.

It is a passing phase but very important. It comes with its own challenges but if we remain alert and seek mature psychospiritual guidance, we usually navigate it well.

It may upset many important relationships too but things settle down with time.

If you or a loved one is going through this, be understanding and learn all you can about this phase of life.
