Kitui Deputy Governor Dr. Wathe Nzau has released an update regarding the on-going spraying of locusts in Kitui County.

Adding that the aircraft involved in the excerise is undergoing routine maintenance, Wathe called on the residents to bear with the authorities who are containing the situation in earnest.

“Kindly, bear with the situation because as County Government, we are doing the best we can, to manage this menace in our County” said Wathe in communique to COUNTY DIARY.

Desert Locust Update, in Kitui County.

1) Tharaka Ward:
There is a Swarm at Magatra and Gacigogo Village.

2) Tseikuru Ward:
The Swarm is at Ngongoni Village.

Summary:
Active Swarms-
•Tharaka – 1 Swarm.
•Tseikuru – 1 Swarm.

Breeding sites:
1) Kyuso Ward- Maseki and Kyethetu/ Kiseuni Villages.
2) Mumoni Ward- Kyoea/ Kakuyu and Mbarani/ Katse Villages.
3) Tseikuru/ Kaivirya Village.

Note:
Yesterday and today, aerial spraying was not done because the Aircraft is undergoing normal service.
