Embattled Kiambu Governor Hon Ferdinand Waititu, the famed Baba Yao, has been sacked by majority of Senators, The COUNTY DIARY Reports.

During the voting marked by chaos, Senators voted 28 for, 11 against, 28 for, 11 against and 28 for and 11 against the three grounds for his impeachment.

And after the vote, Waititu goose was cooked.

In his impeachment motion by the Kiambu County Government, Waititu was implicated of corruption, gross violation of the Constitution, and a gross violation of Public Finance Management Act and County Government Act.

The Governor was impeached by some 63 Members of County Assembly on December 19 in a process that he would challenge.

But Baba Yao didn’t go down without a fight.

The Governor cast doubts on the numbers involved in his impeachment, saying they were cooked as he had taken a section of the MCAs to a retreat ostensibly to scuttle the impeachment process.

The first-time Governor had a troublesome second day fighting for his seat at the Senate where a section of the legislators had publicly declared they wanted him out.

Tuesday, January, 28, the House adjourned after efforts by efforts by Kipchumba Murkomen to have an 11-member Senate Committee substantiate the charges levelled against Waititu flopped.

The Governor was charged in 2019 with corruption-related offences and barred from accessing his office.
