Ngilu to tap the best textile technologies from a global apparels show in Taiwan

Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu’s vision is to make Kitui an Apparel County in the Republic of Kenya and establish garment factories across the county in pursuit to fulfil her youth development and wealth creation development agenda that rhymes with President Uhuru’s manufacturing pillar in the Big 4 Agenda.

Her tip to Taiwan for the Taipei Innovative Textile Application show -TITAS is to benchmark with the best textile industries in the world on sustainable, smart and functional textiles.

The Governor will bring home the latest technology and techniques in garment making for the production of world-class apparels for Kitui County Textile Centre factory to be able to produce apparels for local, national and even international market.

Ngilu’s ultimate target is to create employment opportunities for the jobless youth, increase revenue and uplift the livelihoods of the people of Kitui County
