Ministry launch “Tulauke” Emergency Water Trucking Program .

Kitui County Ministry of water has launched Tulauke Emergency Water Trucking Program for the whole county, the water chief officer Mr Kiilu a.k.a kasamba has said.

Emergency Water Trucking has been intensified in Kitui County to reduce water shortages ,The program being implemented by Tanathi Water Works Development Agency through KIMWASCO and KITWASCO and coordinated by Sub County Water Officers (SCWO’s) is a big boost towards provision of clean water.

Some of the areas and instituions supplied with water are Kinanie area, Malalani Secondary School, Waani Rock
catchment Masonary Tank, Muthungue and Kyamatu Health facilities in Voo/Kyamatu Ward, the program is expected to spread to all pheriperial water scarcity areas across the county

On 13th and 15th July 2019, the program was extended to Malalani and Endau markets, Twambui Shopping Center, Yiuku, Katooni, Kathua, Walanzaani, Makutano ma Malalani, Malalani Dispensary, Ikisaya and Yiuku Primary School in Endau/Malalani Ward of Kitui East Sub County.

Mid this week {July 17}, water trucking was extended to several institutions in Mwingi West Sub County through KITWASO.

Water was delivered to Migwani Special School in Migwani Ward, Kanyekini and Kyusani dispensaries and Thaana Nzau Dispensary in Kyome/Thaana Ward.

Other areas that benefited are Kyoani Primary School, Kasaala Primary School, Mutomo market center and Yaana Community water tank in Kitui South Sub County.

(2) Borehole Maintenance Services
In Mwingi Central Sub County, Mui ward, Ngaa borehole is operational after carrying out electrical routine maintenance and engine service.

Additionally, an interim Water Management Committee was elected to run the project. This meeting was attended by Member of County Assembly (MCA) and the Acting Ward Administrator.
