The County Assembly Special Committee on Removal from Office of the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) of the County Treasury on Monday adjourned its sitting to 2.00pm. Mrs. Nguli who had appeared before the committee Chaired by Mumoni Ward MCA Hon. Johnson Kanandu flagged by her two lawyers pleaded with the committee for an additional time, saying she had received a request for additional information this morning.

“Hon. Chair, yesterday I was not in the office, since I had attended the proceedings of the Budget and Appropriations Committee in Nairobi on the issues of the Supplementary Budget. I have received the letter from this committee today morning and I therefore ask for permission so that I can appear before the committee in the afternoon,” she pleaded.

After consulting with the rest of the Committee Members, Hon. Kanandu directed that Mrs. Nguli appears at 2pm when the committee will resume its sitting.

The five-member committee was constituted on December 19th, 2018 following a resolution of the County Assembly approving a motion on impeachment of the CECM which was moved by the Budgets and Appropriations Committee Chairman Hon. Boniface Kasina (Tseikuru ward).
