Kitui Deputy Governor Calls for a concerted effort to boost farming

Kitui Deputy Governor Dr Wathe Nzau has called on residents of Kitui to invest in agriculture during the rainy season by making use of the farm tractors which the county government has distributed to each Ward.

Dr Wathe was speaking at Kaela Secondary school, in Mwingi Central during the fund drive towards Dormitory construction where he the Chief Guest on behalf of Governor Charity Ngilu he gave Ksh.315,000 which helped the school to collect a total of Ksh. 638,170.

The DG reiterated the county government commitment to achieve good security in every household, food production can only be achieved through timely planting in order to eliminate chances of hunger in the County, he added.

Dr Wathe Nzau said food and water remain the Government top agenda alongside, affordable health, education and youth development, Women empowerment and wealth creation.

He also assured the residents of Musukini, and their Schools, Kaela Secondary, Musukini Dispensary and the FGCK CDC that they will get enough Water because the County Government is set to spend 8 Million Shillings to do water piping for them to get enough water which will be drawn from Musukini borehole where the Contractor is already on Site.

He was speaking at Kaela Secondary school, in Mwingi Central during the fund drive towards Dormitory construction.

He was accompanied by the Executive member in charge of Education, ICT and Youth Development David Kivoto among other local leaders.
