Needy students to benefit with 40 Million in Kitui

Kitui County government has adequate plans to disburse bursary support worthy 40 Million to needy students county wide through a pro-poor bursary programme. The exercise targets to benefit the less privileged University and College, Secondary and Vocational Training Centre students.

Speaking at his office, CEC for Education, ICT and Youth development David Kivoto assured that the identified students from each of the 40 Wards in the county have an allocation of 1 Million; Secondary 0.7M, University and Colleges 0.2M and Vocational Training Centres 0.1M.

In preparedness for the bursary launch to be graced by Governor Charity Ngilu on December 20 and disbursement of cheques on 21st-22nd December, the County Government will conduct public participation on the same at Village Administrators offices in all the 247 villages simultaneously on 10th December, 2018.

Officers from the County Headquarters, Sub County Administrators and Ward Administrators are expected to monitor the exercise. Education, ICT and Youth development was Governor Charity Ngilu’s 3rd campaign pledge.
