Magdalene Kitonga, retired coordinator – Kitui Central region and founder St. Magdalene Special School for Cerebral Palsy, started the school in mid-2015 in Kitui’s Site estate.

She expressed joy towards the County Government’s support saying it was an inspiring move to the children and the whole fraternity.

“We have had challenges of food for our children and other necessities, you’ve come the right time. We appeal for more assistance from other well-wishers to help us take better care of these children” She said.

She said the project seeks to provide basic needs, shelter and education and looks after the children to help them grow up healthy and confident.

The County aid was delivered by Chief Officer Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture Zakayo Kimanzi and would last till next may next according to the school’s coordinator Magdalene Kitonga.

He said the school was the only of its kind in the entire county hosting children with cerebral condition.

In a past education forum at KEFRI early this year, Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu stressed the need to prioritize education of the all children to prepare them for future leadership.
