18th Anual Nguna’s Cup Lits up County Football Enthusiasts

The 18th annual Nguna CUP individually sponsored by Hon Charles Ngusya was held on Thursday in Mwingi West, Kitui County.

The event was attended by thousands of football buffs and soccer spectators across Kitui County.

Mp Nguna holds successful 18th annual Nguna’s football tournament.

The crowd was treated to a spectacular dribbling and where champions Eibar FC and Kairungi Ladies FC took the day.

The patron of the tournament Hon Charles Nguna, who has been holding football tournament for the last 18 years, had this to say.

“This is not the end but part of a long running talent scouting roadmap . The Nguna CUP tournament will continue to be an annual event and will eventually spread to other counties” MP Nguna told reporters during the spirited, colourful tournament.

“Other sports will be incorporated as we move forward. We shall work with clubs to scout for the best talents from Mwingi West Constituency” Nguna Told the County Diary Reporters.

The event organisers did an amazing job. The last fans too were amazing and very supportive” said Mr. Katembu, who has been in the forefront organizing the tournament.

Best Players will be be offered a Chance to play for Top Kenya Premier League if they pass trials. Such Tournaments are a positive move for the Society, said the organizers.

The event was attended by Kitui Women representative Hon Dr Irene Kasalu, reknown Kamba celebrated benga artists, Maima, high flying Katombi among others musicians and local celebrities.

Mwingi Mp hon Charles Nguna Delivering Prizes to the Winners It was a wonderful end of the event when the patron of the tournament, Hon. Charles Nguna delivered prizes to the winners of the Nguna Cup 18th Edition, Eiber City FC and Kairungu FC Ladies.

There were tears of Joy and celebrations when the stars were being awarded, flooded by love and cheers from the fans.

The Hon. member of Parliament reiterated that he will continue nurturing and supporting talents throughout Mwingi Constituency.
